I just paid and updated to your newest versions of Mental Case and can't view ANY of my stacks, notes,... The main library window in Mental Case (running on OS X) is blank and most of the buttons are not working. I am running a MBPr with 10.9.5 with plenty of RAM and extra memory and a new iphone 6 with 8.0.2. Your website refers to Yosemite but Apple hasn’t even released it yet. The only reason I know that data is still in the background is because when I was looking through Import and Export, the stacks and notes appear in Export.

Please help.

    Hi Mike,
Can you explain exactly what happened when you updated?
When you say you updated, do you mean you updated on iPhone or on Mac?
Were you upgrading from the original Mental Case v1 apps to Mental Case 2?
If so, did you migrate your data over on the Mac?
Are the stacks missing on the Mac or on iOS? Could you perhaps make a screenshot of the problem and email that to me?
Have you activated iCloud sync yet?
Sorry for all the questions. I’m just trying to establish exactly where things have gone wrong so we can look to a fix.
    Kind regards,
    Drew

    Drew,

I’m running Yosemite on my desktop. My iphone6 running iOS 8.1 seems to run Mental Case 2 fine. I have iCloud sync set to On on all devices. However, Mental Case is completely blank on my desktop app. Sample notes I imported during the startup message aren’t even visible. Sample notes that I sync’d via iCloud (imported thru desktop app), can be viewed and worked with on my iphone 6. I can also view and work on with my iphone 6 the notes that I imported on the desktop app from the Store. But **nothing** is visible on my desktop app.

If I go to File-Export, my Stacks and Notes are listed and ready to export.

**Nothing** is visible in Stack, Spread or List Notes views…nor is anything visible in either Notes Browser or Slideshow views.

Also, clicking on the Settings symbol in the lower right corner yields no action. I can however use the hotkeys “Command - ,” and the Preferences menu appears.

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled twice from the App Store, ensuring that I’m using Mental Case 2.

I considered that maybe something about Mental Case is corrupt and found several files named *mentalfaculty.mentalcase.* but don’t want to risk making anything worse so I left them alone. There are 3 different sets of plist files, each with their varying image sizes, some with icons that are the older case icon and some with the newer red icon and the below 3 with no icons:

    -standard: P7BXV6PHLD.com.mentalfaculty.mentalcase.plist
    -ios P7BXV6PHLD.com.mentalfaculty.mentalcase.ios.plist
    -mac P7BXV6PHLD.com.mentalfaculty.mentalcase.mac.plist

So am I really the only person with this issue and, more importantly, how do I fix this??

    Mike

    Hi Mike,
It sounds like all the data should be in the cloud.
I think you are right that this is caused by some form of corruption.
    Here is what I suggest:

    1. Quit Mac app
    2. Click on Finder
    3. Choose Go > Go to Folder
    4. Enter this
    ~/Library/Containers
    5. Drag the folder com.mentalfaculty.mentalcase.mac to your Desktop
    6. Restart your Mac
    7. Launch MC, and turn on sync in Preferemces
    8. Wait for cloud data to import.

Let me know how it goes.

    Kind regards,
    Drew
