organizing stacks in your upcoming version
In your current desktop version I have about 6400 cards, but if I go to:
~/Library/Containers/com.mentalfaculty.mentalcase.mac/Data/Library/Application Support/Mental Case
there is only 53.9MB of data being stored, so they don't use a lot of data. A small percentage have sound files from back when iCram was still allowing your app to upload its decks. But none have any photos or graphics, just text.
Yet i was never able to resolve the problems that occurred in trying to sync my desktop app with my iOS app. Since the desktop app is where I edited my cards (not about to edit on my phone), it was a big loss when I finally just abandoned the desktop app and just resolved to study what cards I already had on my phone without syncing to the desktop (which always led to a foul up). I also stopped adding cards because I used the desktop to edit new cards and make improvements where needed when the need was found upon studying the cards.
Since it was not the amount of data that was the issue, I have to assume the sync problem is in the number of my cards which is around 6400, the number of my stacks, around 240, and/or the tiers of my cases (often cases within a case, and sometimes cases within a case within a case).
Since I'm hoping to try your new version, I am wondering if I should start reorganizing my stacks into fewer cases, or avoid creating tiers of cases, so that there is less likely to be any sync issues when I do. Are there changes I should make to how I organize my cards when using your upcoming version?
thanks,
Zeppo

Hi Zeppo,
We're working hard on getting a totally overhauled and new version of the app ready to go. It will also have a overhauled sync engine that should be much quicker and more reliable. At this time I would recommend just waiting until it's released.
