suggestion for UI for easy selecting
Hi,
I brought this up in some post, but I'm unable to find it back right now, asking for the possibility to select multiple flashcards for a study session. It had been answered that'd be difficult due to the difficult nature in iOS of selecting...
But I'm not sure you have a point here.
I mean, just look at the photos.app in OS : it shows all the pictures and what an easy to select either individual images by tapping on them or a bunch of images by dragging ones finger around. What could be simpler than that ? It's extremely intuitive. Afterwards you can export them, share them thru airdrop, etc.. [=> see attached screen clip]
Why couldn't Studies take a clue from that ?
Why not proposing a view mode showing ALL the flashcards, for easy selecting the desired ones as in photos.app, then export them to a study session or share them thru airdrop ?

We already have selecting. It is used for Copy/Move/Trash. We could extend that to starting a slideshow. The UI would be a bit tricky, because the other options there are all 'edits'. We would somehow have to get the user to select in a special mode, and then open the study session chooser to study them. We'll think about it.
None of this is impossible. It never is. The problem is you can't just throw in the kitchen sink without thinking about it, or you will end up with a very messy app that is difficult to understand. Photos is a very simple app at heart, with little emphasis on organisation. We have an app with many more possibilities, so we can to be careful how we expose that.
Will think about this though. Probably not in version 1.0.

=> in iOS ? Where do I find that ?

=> why not present a splash screen with all the flashcards, and upon selecting, a popup with the different options available : edit, start study session, trash, etc...
We'll think about it.
=> thanks

On iPhone, go to a list of notes and tap Edit.
On iPad, long tap on a note.
Kind regards,

thanks, never tried this out !
I do think that from the UI side of things it'd be a plus to have a side-by-side presentation of the flashcards (as in Photos or similar apps). In the actual layout of Studies, there's actually a lot of wasted space. Thus, on could easily have an overview of large parts of the libraries...
Truly hope to see this implemented in the iOS version soon ...

That is how we do it on the iPad. It has a grid layout, and you select with a long tap and hold.
iPhone has a smaller screen. A grid doesn't work anywhere near as well unless you just have images. Apple's standard solution for text based data is what we have (Eg how mail does it).
