I wonder why it’s not possible to zoom text cards. On an ipad 12,9 the cards are looking kind of lost and sometimes it’s even unnecessary hard to read the text .... especially if you want to use the autoplay mode and place the display in a short distance to yourself.

tigger-tiggertag:mentalfaculty.tenderapp.com,2010-10-19:Comment/487183102020-10-13T07:25:32Z2020-10-13T07:25:32Zzoom / scaling

Hi Michael,

sorry, your message went to spam somehow. I just noticed it.

The cards are taking all the place on screen when in study session. What's the problem with it?

sorry for confusing you - I mean not the card itself but the content of the card.
You have a huge card but the text is always the same size... it just gets scaled down if there is to much text but it never get scaled up that it looks natural. Beside the worse look and feel of this some cards are really hard to read as I described before.

Michael

tigger-tiggertag:mentalfaculty.tenderapp.com,2010-10-19:Comment/487183102020-10-14T04:15:08Z2020-10-14T04:15:08Zzoom / scaling

Hi Michael,

I see. Actually I agree, its a problem.
But in the same time, I don't think it makes sense to do automatic upscale, bcs for short texts the font could become pretty large.
I think things will change as soon as we will publish new rich text editor. That definitely will happen before the end of year.

how will the rich text editor solve the problem ?
I don´t want to edit thousands of cards and I also cannot globally set a font size for a cart to fit on any of my devices.

What we need is identical to the already implemented downscaling ... you can implement an upscaling up to a given maximum value. This way the text would not become to large and it would help immediately without much efforts.

Another way could be to give it in user hands, so that they can pinch and zoom for setting the max. zoom value..

In the end they do know better what are the best settings for their type of cards than you can know globally. Please make it possible at least as an experimental feature so we can collect some ideas for improving it together.

tigger-tiggertag:mentalfaculty.tenderapp.com,2010-10-19:Comment/487183102020-10-15T15:11:16Z2020-10-15T15:11:16Zzoom / scaling

Hi,

well, the rich text editor will be fully native and consistent across iOS/Mac.
Current implementation is backed by a web view, and since apple deprecated it, its causing problems, especially on last Mac OS versions.

So, native editor will give us more contract over the content and its presentation.

no, not yet. But we slowly approaching to it as major data layer issues seems solved now.
