Hey! I LOVE your product, and use Mentalcase for Mac and iOS RELIGIOUSLY.
AMAZING.

BUT!

1) It would REALLY help me (and many others, I am sure) if the ability to create multi-faceted notes and take those amazing multiple choice quizzes on my iPhone or iPad.

2) It would be great if I could get some sort of report on ALL my right/wrong answers over time, instead of JUST by clicking that little graph icon during slideshow mode.

3) The disappearing HUD and the "invisible buttons" on your iPhone app (during slideshow mode) is REALLY annoying... While there might be some people who dig it, is there a way you could snake an option in there somewhere to turn that off?

4) It would be really great too if it was not so difficult to edit notes in that "list notes" view mode. Sometimes when i double click to edit, it opens the note in the note editor view, and other times, it gives me an editable text-box. If it was more like a spreadsheet editor with sortable columns and stuff too... KILLER!

Otherwise, I love everything about this app! Keep up the amazing work, and THANK YOU!

    Hi Chris,

We are in the last stages of developing a whole new version of Mental Case, with similar features to the Mac app. Unfortunately, cloud sync is working against us, and the app is seriously delayed. It is coming, but I can't put a date on it, or exactly what form it will take (eg it may not initially have any syncing if we can't sort it out in a timely fashion).

    To answer your points:

    1) Multi-faceted note creation and multiple choice are in there.
    2) We have stats for slideshows on iOS. I take on board your request for all time stats. (A round about way to get it would be to launch a slideshow for all of your notes, and immediately go to the stats and not finish. Obviously not ideal, but if it is really important for some reason...)
    3) The new app has a different approach to navigating slideshows. More swiping. The HUD is gone and is replaced by a help overlay accessible through a menu.
    4) Thanks for the feedback on editing.

We are beta testing the new iOS now, though it could still be a while before it is released. If you want to try it out, and give feedback, let me know.

    Kind regards,
    Drew

I would LOVE to beta test whatever you're working on… from what you just said there… sounds AMAZING!
I am thrilled! Looking really forward to seeing what you guys are setting up!

    Lemme know - ANYTHING I can do…

Our whole team uses MentalCase, and there are quite a few other people coming up through the ranks here pretty soon… We are NGO workers here in Papua New Guinea, and LOVE mental case. We use it to help us learn indigenous languages… When we finish language learning, we develop orthography and literacy programs in partnership with the indigenous people here. MentalCase saves us from losing our data (which we typically would put on real paper flashcards) to the rampant mold and roaches here in the tropics - and it saves us some serious planning and organization time! WIN!

Thanks a ton for your hard work and amazing product.

    Hi Chris,
Sounds like you do really interesting work, and a very unique use of Mental Case.
I come originally from Melbourne, so I know a bit about PNG, but not too much.
I'll add you to our beta. You won't be able to download it until our next update though. In the meantime, you will need to register the device you want to test.
    Kind regards,
    Drew

    SO Rad. Thanks so much.
Pretty sure I did everything right… followed the hockey.app link, and saw an "INSTALL" button for mental case. tapped it, and it proceeded to install the app.

That right? Now I have 2 mental case apps on my phone.

Now, are you all after a certain kind of feedback? Anything? What is the best way to do that?

Thanks again… Hope I am not bothering you. Nice to 'meet' you anyways… Australia is gorgeous! Stopped in Brisbane and Cairns on the way out here… I am from California originally.

    Anyways, I appreciate this!

    Hi Chris,
Yes, you can send feedback directly using the hockeyapp web page.
The app still needs quite a bit of graphical work, so better to restrict feedback to functionality for now.

I don't know about everyone else, but I would much rather get all these other features added to the IOS app now and get the cloud synching later. Synching to the cloud is a small thing to me, more like icing on the cake, compared to getting the improved scheduling algorithm fully translated to the IOS devise (ie, success for each reversible facet graded and scheduled independently) and ability to mix reversible and non-reversable cards within the same case. These two things, especially the scheduling, effect ease of learning. Being able to sync to the cloud isn't going to improve how I learn, so small potatoes to me.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, this is an option we are considering.
