(1) Export to an Apple Numbers file or MS Excel file: Each study
card would be a row, and each facet of a would be a section of
cells within the card's row. The purpose of this is to provide a
more direct way to work between a spreadsheet and a study card
stack. Although CSV and tab-delimited exports are currently doable,
this enhancement would make it a more direct process. Obviously the
export would be text-only. I recommend putting the priority on
export to Numbers over Excel.

(2) Export to an Apple Keynote file or MS PowerPoint file: Each
facet of a study card --including text, images and audio-- would be
a Keynote slide; thus a two facet card would be exported as two
Keynote slides. The purpose of this would be to derive from Mental
Case a roughed out presentation that can be further developed with
additional media and formatting for lectures. I recommend putting
the priority on export to Keynote over PowerPoint.

I'd also like to suggest the following enhanced import
feature:

(1) Import from Apple Numbers or MS Excel: The reverse of what
is mentioned above. Obviously there would be a restriction on the
number of columns and how they can be expected to correspond to
what goes on study cards. The purpose of this would be to directly
utilize data in a spreadsheet without any multi-step process (e.g.,
such as first exporting from the spreadsheet to CSV or
tab-delimited file and then from there importing into MC).

Ed Lintag:mentalfaculty.tenderapp.com,2010-10-19:Comment/352408972014-11-11T13:19:00Z2014-11-11T13:19:00ZEnhanced export and import features

Hi Ed,
