used iOS app for 6 days without the desktop app, then iCloud keeps the desktop data ...
Instead of keeping the more current data that was synced to the cloud daily by the iOS app, instead it kept the backlog of due notes as scheduled by the desktop app.
Clearly, your sync function doesn't work. I left the desktop app running last night for an hour without any transfer of current data from the cloud to the desktop. Then this morning, when I turned on the iOS app, the scheduling from the desktop was transferred to the iOS app.
My internet was down for 6 days. But even if it was down for just one day, this problem tells me that I have to make sure I sync my desktop app daily after I complete my studying for the day on the iOS. This was not a problem with the old wifi of Version 1.
I suggest that you introduce the feature into the desktop app that asks if you want to keep the cloud data or the desktop data prior to the sync. At least until you have fixed this problem. But I can't use this desktop app, which is what I use to edit cards. So unless I get an iPad, so that I can edit on the iOS app instead, I guess I am done with this app. I'll just continue to study what I have on iOS (I now have to go back through 6 days worth of due notes again.). But I am switching to Anki for any new cards. Email me if you come out with a new version that fixes this problem and I'll give it a shot.
Of course, we've been over it before that you oould just go back to what works, which is skipping the cloud and using wifi sync instead. But you say that means those with iPads will have to take one extra step to sync with their other iOS devices, So I understand your focus is on iOS-only users. But once you can support the segment that uses both the desktop app and the iOS, which I think will include those who want an app for serious long-term study, perhaps you will see an increase in those users that becomes meaningful.
