downloaded update to 1.9, now it crashes, won't work at all
After I downloaded update, I realized the requirement is for Mac Os 10.6, but I am only running 10.5.8. Can you send me the old version 1.8.x that worked that I can put back on my laptop?

That worked! Thanks for the link. And, thanks for this fabulous program. I use it to learn my students' names - it used to take me most of the semester to get 60 or so faces straight, now I get it done in less than a week. The students are very impressed! I tell them the name of the app and that it's for more than just face recognition, so maybe you'll get some business from them.

Well, as I said a few days ago, the link you sent worked. Until today, when I tried to start a new case. It was very slow last time, so I first deleted all my old cases (and emptied the trash), wondering if that was what was bogging it down. It locked up and wouldn't let me start a new case. I shut my laptop down, restarted, tried to open Mental Case and it wouldn't open. Restarted again, re-downloaded and installed the link you had given me a few days ago. Restarted one more time, and tried to open Mental Case, it won't open.
Do you know what I need to be doing differently?

Hi Jerilyn,
If you haven't got anything in Mental Case that you need, the best way to start afresh is to delete the library and preferences files.
Go to your home folder, the one with your name on it. Then delete these folders/files
Library/Application Support/Mental Case
Library/Preferences/com.maccoremac.mentalcase.plist
Library/Preferences/com.mentalfaculty.mentalcase.mac.plist
There may only be one of the last two files there.
Then launch MC.

I do have one file that is current - a case with 21 notes in it. Does that mean I'd lose it and have to re-do it from scratch? Is there a way around that option?

You could export that one case. Select it and choose File > Export.
Rather than deleting the files I mentioned, instead move them to your desktop, just in case something goes wrong and you want to go back.

Yesterday, Mental Case wouldn't open. Today it opened, but the one case I hadn't deleted was gone, and it's telling me my trial period has 30 days left, and asking if I want to buy it now. I don't want to spend a lot of time creating and re-creating cases, only to lose them in 30 days. Is there a work-around for this situation?

Mental Case never deletes your data, even if the trial expires. Something else must have gone wrong.
See if you have any backups in Documents/Mental Case Backups. There are instructions there too.

Hi Jerilyn,
I think you are probably looking in the wrong library. There are several. You need to go to the one that is in your home folder, the one with your name on it.

I went to my home folder, I've tried it several times, and when I open Mental Case up, it now tells me I have 15 days left on my trial period, and asks me if I want to purchase now.
Do I really need to re-purchase in order to make this work? If I do, can you refund me the money somehow?

No need to repurchase.
Just choose Mental Case > Enter Registration, and enter your serial
