<p>This is a follow up to the "Spaced Repetition" question asked
and answered a few days ago (<a href=
"https://mentalfaculty.tenderapp.com/discussions/questions/515-does-the-spaced-repetition-reset-if-you-get-the-card-wrong">https://mentalfaculty.tenderapp.com/discussions/questions/515-does-...</a>).
I have wondered this precise same question, but your answer was not
quite as specific as I had hoped.</p>
<p>The specific issue / question is: If I answer note x WRONG on
the iPhone, and then complete the lesson, and then START the lesson
again (now, hopefully, with fewer notes in it) but WITHOUT first
syncing to the mac, and I now answer question x correctly, what
happens? My impression is that the iPhone now thinks the note was
answered correctly (which, in theory it was), so when I now sync to
the Mac, the note is marked as correct and the learning
incremented, not decremented.</p>
<p>This is not an issue, but just a geek wanting to understand a
little more of precisely how the app works, and what will happen
when (now very very rare) the "resume lesson" is not available on
the iphone.</p>
<p>Thanks in advance, Nic.</p></div>nictag:mentalfaculty.tenderapp.com,2010-10-19:Comment/55055822011-02-22T13:57:14Z2011-02-22T13:57:14ZFollow up to "Spaced Repetition" question<div><p>Hi Nic,<br>
Boy, tough one. Actually had to look in the code to figure out what
happens.<br>
It's like this: If you mark a note wrong, and then exit the
slideshow somehow, it will stay wrong at the next sync, even if you
revisit it and mark it right. So you can think of it as: once
wrong, always wrong. I guess that probably makes sense, because if
you are not sure whether something is 'wrong', you probably don't
know it well enough, and it should be considered wrong for
scheduling purposes.<br>
Hope that helps.<br>
Kind regards,<br>

be… but I wasn't certain. But to be clear, I am talking about
<em>restarting</em> the lesson on the touch device - not just
resuming the lesson, because I know that when the note reappears in
the same lesson, even marking it right does, of course,
<em>not</em> change the status.</p>
<p>Anyway, thanks… I don't need you to look at more code, and
I'm sure most readers here appreciate your quick and helpful
responses.</p>
