I have transferred my flash cards from flashcardexchange, however those questions or answers that have more than a few lines would not entirely show up in mental case. These longer questions or answers appear as "....". I can only see them if I go to edit mode. this is not acceptable, is there a way to change the setting so all the contents show up? I am using the iPad version and have the paidnversion of flashcardexchange.

Thanks for your help.

I'm afraid this is simply a case of the text not fitting in the space available, so it gets truncated.

I recommend you go into the app settings, and choose a smaller font size for your prompt and/or content sides. Then the text will hopefully fit.

    Kind regards,

Thanks for writing. If this is the case, it is truly disappointing that they design this app to just be able to handle a few lines of text. I am not using large font at all...... If you look at the interface on iPad, there is a lot of space in the middle (especially if there is no accompanying image) that it can easily accomodated more words/lines.....this just does not make sense to me.

    But thanks for the sugguestion.

Flashcard apps in general are not designed for large pieces of text. Usually you would split a larger piece of text into several smaller flashcards.

How large is the text you are using? You should be able to get about 10-20 lines on screen at once. If you have an image, it will be less.

Perhaps I didn't make this very clear. There are several modes of viewing notes in Studies.

The first I will call organisational mode. This is where you can see a list or grid of your notes. This is designed to allow you to identify the notes — like a thumbnail for photos — but not see all the content. To keep the text readable, we truncate it in this mode.

The second mode is edit mode. You should be able to see all the content here, and edit it. The text scrolls as much as you like.

The last mode is study mode. This is where you start a study session. Studies should show all the text in this mode. If it isn't, it is a bug, and you should let me know. However, if you have length pieces of text, in order to get it on the 'card', it will be shrunken down. If you find this gets too small, the best thing to do is split the text over multiple facets. This way you can keep a convenient card format for studying, and still read the text. (The alternative approach, to allow scrolling, could become very fiddly in a study mode, especially on different devices.)

    Hope that fully explains it.

    Kind regards,
    Drew
