Not syncing
My iphone and laptop are on the same network, they see each other and connect but then the sync button never livens. I already made sure the TCP/IP settings are correct. Very frustrating.

The sync button will stay grayed out until some data is sent back to the Mac. Just be patient and wait a minute, rather than canceling the sync. It should activate.
If that doesn't work, it might be worth trying a computer-to-computer network. See our FAQ for details

Do you have airport in your Mac? If so, you should be able to make a c2c network, as long as you are an administrator.
I sent the wrong URL last time. It should be

If you can't get it to work, I will happily refund your Mac license purchase. Just let me know.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Kind regards,
Drew

Drew,
I have to have a WPA2 because of our network.
I really don't want a refund, I love the program - it's been great for school. I just want to nail the problem down and get rid of it but I don't know where to start.

You could try reinstalling the Mac app. Just download at macflashcards.com. There might be some corruption.
You could also see if adjusting the Mac's network settings helps. For example, set the IP configuration to use IPv4 only, rather than both. See if that changes anything.
Kind regards,
Drew

Drew,
I reinstalled it on my iphone and the laptop. Didn't make it work last night, it worked later, after 5 or so more tries. That is what is so odd.

I'm afraid sometimes a network can get into a confused state if you try syncing, and it fails or you cancel it. Often if this is happening, you are better to wait half an hour to let the router clear, or reboot the router yourself.
Kind regards,
Drew

I can look into that next time, but then why would it sync instantly
downstairs on my desktop and not on the laptop upstairs? I wonder if there
could be some interference in the house some where?
