Hi Julio,
It is true they are similar. Studies is the latest edition of Mental Case, with a name change.
In the future, we will only be improving Studies. (Mental Case is mostly kept available for people with older operating systems).
The Studies interface has been dramatically refreshed. There are also many smaller improvements, such as the ability to choose what to sync, much improved sync performance (using Apple's new CloudKit), and general performance improvements. Being able to change a grade in slideshows is an example of another smaller improvement, and there are many other smaller details too.
If you are happy using Mental Case, you can keep using it. We will keep it working into the future.
Kind regards,
Drew

Drew,
Thank you for your answer.
All right that sounds fantastic and I would change to Studies BUT:
Don't see the point why to pay another 19 EUR for Studies as a Mental Case User, I mean Studies is a kind of Update and 19 EUR seems a little bit exegarated - no offence, you certainly do a fantastic job as Developer. Couldn't you offer a discount for NC Users???
Anyway Studies is currently not avalaible in Germany's AppStore.
Best regards
Julio

Hi Julio,
Studies should definitely be available in the German store. Are you using the Mac App Store?
We did offer a sale when we introduced the product for about a month. That was intended to allow existing users to upgrade at a discount. We can't offer a general upgrade price due to limitations of the Mac App Store.
We may run a back to school sale soon, so that would be a good time to purchase.
Kind regards,
Drew
