Mental Cases crashes with any attempt to "Save as PDF"
Hi there,
Fantastic program! - However, ever since the update this past summer, I have been unable to save my notes as a PDF. I can export as any other file type without any problem so this isn't a huge issue, but would be nice.
File > Print > PDF > Safe as PDF...
...Then the program crashes. I have tried this with many
different cases and with single notes with the same result. It
worked beautifully this past spring.
Using the same sequence in any other program on my Mac seems to work fine.
Thanks for your help!
James

Hi James,
I don't know what the issue could be. If you try to print very many notes, you can sometimes hit memory issues, but that doesn't sound like the problem here.
You should definitely be able to print a single note.
I just tried, and it is working for me, so it is probably an issue with your setup.
Some things to try:
1) If it crashes, open Console, look for the crash, and send the print out to us.
2) It is possibly a result of corrupted preferences. Try this:
1) Quit MC
2) Move the file ~/Library/Preferences/com.maccoremac.mentalcase.plist to your Desktop
3) Launch MC and test
Kind regards,
Drew

Thanks for the advice! Speediest customer service ever!
Here is the Console screenshot
I will let you review this prior to altering preferences.

Thanks. Unfortunately it doesn't give much info. Can you perhaps find a crash log in console, and send that?

Sorry for the delay.
Moving the preferences file to the desktop didn't fix the issue, but I was able to get a bit more info off console on the last crash (attached)
Thanks again for all the help!

Hi James,
Unfortunately, those messages don't tell me too much. If you could look through the library groups in Console and see if you can find the crash logs, and send me one of those, it would make it much easier to track down the issue.
Sorry I can't be more help.
Kind regards,
Drew

Hi there Drew,
I haven't been able to track down any other console messages - my apologies.
The problem isn't all that obtrusive since most of my colleagues are now using the program anyway and I can share as a studyarchive.
Thanks for your help. I can just do without this feature.
James
