How do I upload from mental case to flashcard exchange - I have images in my files!
Please help me upload my files from mental case (mac desktop software) to my flashcard exchange account. I know how to do text upload using CSV, and others, but images are not importing into CSV etc.
I'm really confused here as I want to share some of my cards with friends, and I can't find a help topic on this.
thank you

Unfortunately, flashcard exchange doesn't offer a simple way to import images. You would have to build the cards one by one.
If your friends are also using Mental Case, the best way to share your cards would be to export them as a Study Archive, and share them via a service like DropBox. Your friends can just enter the link to get the cards.
For more info, see http://www.macflashcards.com/studyarch

Hey Drew, since you guys have a deal with flashcard exchange and them
supporting your iphone software, is there anyway you can ask them to be able
to import your mental case files?? This would work great for both companies
as it will increase the use of both sites - more profit to both!!
Also I have a class of 110 people that I am tutoring right now in Medicine -
If you are up for it, I was wondering if we could try to use your school
discount price of $1.00/student who signs up? It will definately spread the
word of Mental Case, and I promise there will be tons of future business
from it, all students are in medicine, many are married to Docs, and other
professionals who will see the utility here. I like your system - but don't
want to commit to it unless you/mental case thinks you can support our
student class?
Let me know what you think?
Please talk to flash card exchange to see if they would be able to import
your mental case as well - as I think it would be great to integrate to all
sites.
I appreciate your help.

Hi Norry,
We have considered FCE upload at various times. It isn't just a question of turning it on though, it is quite a bit task.
For your class, I really recommend using study archives on a service like drop box (http://www.macflashcards.com/studyarch).
Also, we have just submitted updates to the App Store for all iOS Mental Case apps with support for iTunes import/export, as well as sharing directly between devices over bluetooth. That could help.
We are happy to offer a discount for 110 Mac licenses, but we can't go down to $1, I'm afraid. We could offer you 110 for $300, which works out at about $2.50 a copy. This is about 90% off the student price, so it is a very big discount.
Let me know if you want to take up that offer.
Kind regards,
Drew

Hey Drew,
Thanks for the great offer, that is worth it if I can convince everyone to
pitch in and buy into the idea. I will try my best and get back to you asap.
I'm wondering what the Teachers edition of mental case is?
Is there anyway that everyone can log into my mental case so only I can make
changes etc? and everyone else only gets access? That would be very good for
me,
Other option is for everyone to download a link from our class website with
my mental case files and import them into their specific mental case. I
still like the idea of me having full control of the notes and cards.
Also when someone downloads CSV will the images show up as well? - Are there
other free programs that can play my mental case files?
Let me know what you think

Hi Norry,
The teachers edition is just the same app. We have a special price for teachers and students of $19.99, but the app is exactly the same.
On the iPhone/iPad, we have a free app called Mental Case Classroom Edition. It can download cards exported from MC on the Mac. You can study in it too.
Maybe that is a good option for your students.
I think the way to go is to use the web site to upload 'study archives'. You can export those from MC on the Mac. Students then enter the link on the iPhone to import the cards.
The cards include text, images, and audio.
Hope that helps.
Kind regards,
Drew

Hey Drew,
I still think we will have 50% of the class wanting to buy the app for the
class - I will get on it by Monday - the free app is available online? I
will look into it, what is the major diff between the paid app and the free
one online?
Let me know - and thanks again for the quick communication.
I will find out by the end of the week how many want to pitch in. Thanks
again for your help and support.
I think you have a great thing going. - I hope we can help spread the word.

The free app is an iPhone/iPad app available via the iTunes app store.
We don't have a free Mac app.

Hey Drew!
Sounds great, I will get back to you this week. I am hoping to get 50+ of
the 110 signed up if I can do that I think slowly the rest will sign on.
I'll keep you posted, thanks for your help.
