All my old collections are greyed out
I just upgraded to 1.9, and I can't find my collections in the
pane that used to be on the left.
I see my old cases on the Notes/Move to Case menu, but they are all
greyed out.
What gives?

Hi Bryan,
It's possible that the left pane is simply closed. See if you can drag the splitter out by hovering your mouse on the left.
If that is not it, it could be a problem of preferences.
Try this:
1) Quit MC
2) Move the file ~/Library/Preferences/com.maccoremac.mentalcase.plist to your Desktop
3) Launch MC and test
Let me know if that helps.
Kind regards,
Drew

Hi Bryan,
Can you perhaps send a screenshot? I'm not sure what you mean by this.
Is it the Mac or the iPhone?
Kind regards,
Drew

Yeah, here's a screenshot.
As you can see, all the cases are greyed out, and cannot be selected, much less displayed.

Bryan

Hi Bryan,
That menu is for moving notes. Did you select any notes? You need to select some notes, and then choose that, to move the notes to a new case.
Kind regards,
Drew

Things just keep getting stranger and stranger.
So I tried to read the preference plist file using both XML Editor and Plist Edit Pro. As you had suggested, I had moved the plist
file to my desktop. So now I renamed the plist file on my desktop to "JUNK"(without .plist extension), deleted the plist file in the Preferences folder, and
restarted Mental Case.
Now it shows me this:
I re-entered the serial number, and now all is well again.
All of this was a result of having updated, so I think that perhaps there was a problem with the update script which stomped
on the preferences file.
Thanks for your help,
Bryan Lockwood

Yes, it seems the prefs file was the problem, one way or the other. You are the only one who has reported it, so it must have been a one off.
Good that it is working again.
Kind regards,
Drew
