All of my cards have images. Is this OK?
Hi,
I'm just getting started with Mental Case Classroom Edition. I
love it!
To make my cards pretty, I decided to create images instead of
using text. I plan to have hundreds of cards and a lot of them will
also have audio. Is this going to be cause any memory-related
problems with the app? In technical terms, does the app load
everything into memory, or does it only load one card at a time
into memory?
I just wanted to know now before I invest dozens of hours into creating the cards.
Cheers,
Kevin

I guess I may also run into the same size issue as I just read about in another discussion (https://mentalfaculty.tenderapp.com/discussions/questions/33-too-bi...).
I'm OK with it for now as long as the app doesn't crash.
Cheers,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
The Mac app still does not handle very many images terribly well. We have a new version coming (2.0) that will address this.
The iOS apps do handle images well. They do not load all images into memory.
If you are just using the classroom version, and not syncing, no problem.
Kind regards,
Drew

I'm having trouble with crashing. I'm making flashcards to ID birds for my ornithology class and I'm using photos I took in the lab. I'm dragging them in from iPhoto (which is kind of tricky on my smallish screen). I lost over 50 notes when I hit "done" and Mental Case crashed! Unfortunately I have found using trial and error that I can't make more than a dozen or so at a time without crashing.
It might be useful if Mental Case could resize the images when I drop them in.

Hi Laura,
We are working on version 2 at the moment, and it handles images much better.
For now, make sure you save every few notes.
You can also use the screenshot functionality to import the images. This will result in a smaller image.
Kind regards,
Drew
