Misc things as I start using 2.0
Drew:
Having just upgraded to 2.0 and trying out some of the new features I thought I would start logging issues I am finding as well as suggestions.
First things first I dig the multi-facets. Perfect for making
drug cards as putting all the drug info on a single facet gets very
busy.
However, it's a bummer that when making a template it does not also
save the text as well. For example, in order to keep a uniform
layout on the "drug" facet, it would be nice to be able to keep
"generic (Trade)" in the text to remind myself to list the generic
name first in lower case letters, and then the trade name in ( )
with the first letter capitalized.
The same would go for "Indications:" with the following lines
bulleted. Just a few examples. As it is now that would totally have
to be recreated instead of just inserting info in it's proper
place.
Another thing I notice is I cannot highlight a few lines of text and click the bullet button. Doing so deletes all the text and inserts a single bullet. Don't know if that is this program or a Rich Text thing.
I also notice that I cannot duplicate a card using control>command>D as it is listed in the edit menu. I can however go into the edit menu to duplicate a card. The shortcut combo doesn't seem to work. I would recommend changing the shortcut anyway, to command D as I think this is pretty much the universal shortcut combo to duplicate things. At least it is in the MS Office suite.
That's all I got so far. This new version is looking excellent. Keep up the good work
Justin

Hi Justin,
Templates are designed to store styles, so storing content would not be appropriate. You can apply templates to other notes, for example, but if they had content, they would wipe over the other note's content.
If I were you, I would consider simply copying/duplicating notes, if there is a lot of content similar between them.
Another option is to make your own 'facet roles'. You can enter a term at the top of each facet that describes the content on that facet. When you have setup a note the way you want it, create a template from it, and use that to make new notes. The facet roles are included in the template.
Not sure about the bullet issue. We can look into that.
We will also look into the issue with duplication. Could be a bug.
Thanks for the feedback.
Kind regards,
Drew
