I encourage my friends to try the program, but have met many questions about the learning algorithm employed by the software. Can you tell me any more about how the frequency of repeat cards is programmed and how information considered "learned" is returned to the lesson to review weeks or months later? Does MentalCase consider any variables beyond the "know" and "don't know" that I select as I work through the lesson?

The user-friendly interface is very nice. I am certainly a fan of the software--thank you.

Cheers,

The algorithm is based on an early algorithm from the supermemo application. Basically, the intervals increase as you get things right. You can see the intervals in the preferences.
This algorithm is designed to give efficient long term learning.
No other variables are considered. If you honest about how well you know notes, it will work well for you.
Kind regards,
