decided to get the Mac version to make editing easier and quicker.
After paying an expensive $39, I was a disappointed to see that you
no longer have the sync via wifi feature. It's good that you try to
implement features that users request, but I think that you have
taken a huge step back by no longer allowing other ways of
syncing.

It seems like a very restrictive move for the users and I don't
see how this is beneficial to 'all' users. Great for those using
iCloud but as has already been mentioned in other discussions,
those who use iCloud regularly are most likely to have used the
full free space. Even when I set it up for myself yesterday, just
using standard settings, I managed to use 4GB of the 5GB. That's
not even storing photo collections or music or any other space
hungry items.

I noticed you recommended to another user that they should
simply pay for more space, but why would your general Mental Case
users want to pay for space just because you decided to remove
other syncing options.

Now that the main rant is over, unfortunately my Mac and iPad
still don't sync notes. I'm not using iOS 8 with the new iCloud and
no other tweaking of accounts and settings on both devices seems to
help. It's not such a great syncing feature if it's a pain in the
arse to use without having to tweak the Mac or iPad. If it's not a
plug and play type feature then it's not a good feature, simple.
Wifi sync was so easy to use when I used Mental Case 1 years
ago.

I guess I'll just have to resort to using dropbox to transfer
archives. If that manual way of doing things becomes the only
solution then just bring back wifi sync and save a lot of people
the hassle.

Very disappointed.

Evantag:mentalfaculty.tenderapp.com,2010-10-19:Comment/350311342014-10-22T15:10:33Z2014-10-22T15:10:36ZSync

iCloud sync does not work as I would expect. It can take days
for changes to sync between my desktop application and iPhone app.
Running iOS8 of iPhone 5s and OS X 10.10 on Macbook Air (Mid
2011).

There is not a specific option to "Sync Now' under prefs it
states that 'Cloud data is fully downloaded'. However as I am
creating the notes on my Mac and wishing to transfer to my iPhone
this is not exactly what I need to know. Pressing the 'sync' button
on my iPhone does do something but nothing I have just done on my
Mac appears on the phone. It seems, therefore, that the sync is not
uploading from my Mac.

Johntag:mentalfaculty.tenderapp.com,2010-10-19:Comment/350311342014-10-23T06:00:51Z2014-10-23T06:00:51ZSync

Hi John,

Thank you for writing in. iCloud sync should work. First thing
you should check your devices for is if they're running on iCloud
or iCloud drive. You are on Yosemite and iOS 8 so iCloud drive
sounds like the best way to go. If one of your devices is already
is on iCloud drive please change the other one too, if both are
still on iCloud you can keep it this way if you prefer.

After checking this please try pressing the Reset button in MC
on all of your devices and Macs. Wait 30 mins and then
press Reset on each device again. Finally enable sync on each
device, and wait 10 minutes between each device.

I hope this helps, please let us know.

Best,

Thank you for the prompt reply.

Having followed the steps below it seems to be better. Just
added a trial card on my mac and it synced to my phone after
pressing the manual sync button after about 1 minute. I will
provide further feedback if the problem reappears.

One question, when I login to icloud.com and navigate to the
'iCloud Drive' folder I so not see a 'Mental Case' folder or any
'Mental Case' data. Other apps do seem to have folders, is this
correct?

Thanks again.

You only see folders for apps that use documents for storage. Apps
like Pages or Keynote, where you work on a document/file in the
file system.
Mental Case is what we call a 'shoebox app'. It is like iTunes, and
has one big hidden data store. So showing data in documents would
not make sense.
Note that you can import and export files from Mental Case for
sharing.
Kind regards,
