starring, smart folders and reversing prompt and content
Hi there,
Glad to hear that the next version of MC is coming along. MC is by far the most used app on my Mac (the second would be Word, unfortunately).
I use MC as a tool for language acquisition (the Korean language, currently). I'm in desperate need of three features, however, and I wanted to inquire if these will be in the next version. The features are:
- The ability to 'star' or 'favorite' flashcards via the keyboard (both during a study session and in the card browser) and a smart folder to go along with these;
- Smart folders, with parameters based on level of study with regard to individual cards; and
- The ability to batch reorder the prompt and content.
Best wishes,
Jesse

Hi Jesse,
'Starring' or 'flagging' as we call it is already in there.
Smart folders too.
We have also added tags, which are a more advanced form of flags, allowing you to tag notes with different words (eg verb).
We don't have reordering of prompt and content, because we have completely changed the way that aspect works. Each note has as many sides as you like. Any of the sides can be marked as a 'prompt'. If you just have two sides, and the note is reversible, you would just mark each side as 'can be prompt'. You then have control over the order you view them in in a slideshow.
Hope that helps.
Kind regards,
Drew

Hi again Jesse,
Seen as you are a MC enthusiast, and obviously know what you want, would you be interested in helping us beta test version 2.0 in a few months?
Let me know, and I'll add you to the list.
Kind regards,
Drew

Hi Drew,
Thank you for your reply. I'd be happy to help you test the new version. While I'm not sure I'd use all of the new features (though multi-sided cards do sound interesting - maybe I can learn two languages at once), I'm certainly a heavy MC user and will do my best to provide useful feedback.
Looking forward to hearing from you again. Good luck with your work.
Best wishes,
Jesse
