Hey there!
First of all, I would like to thank you for the amazing work you have done on Mental Case. It has helped me a lot throughout medschool, specially at times when you have to memorize many facts and numbers in short time. I study both on my MacBook and my iPad, and I have 2 suggestions for each platform.

1.- Macbook:
a) It would be really nice to be able to insert video to a note, either from file or from 'screen recording' (to learn procedures, for example.). The screen recording is a very interesting feature, allowing you to take only the fragments you want to see from long videos, and being able to access only those segments, fast and remotely, without having to access the internet or search on the whole vid. This would be very useful if many videos are involved.

How could this be achieved? First, setting the frame one would like to record (just like the screenshot utility) and then selecting when you want to start/end recording. This would be very useful if used with, for example, Youtube or other online video sources.

b) I dont know if it has been suggested before, but an image resizing option would be very cool, for those big pics that get automatically resized even thought there is enough 'black' space that could be used to display it clearer.

2.- Ipad:

a) I dont know if its possible to do this, but when I have big cases (200+ notes), I find it very comfortable to study them in 'groups' of 10-20: that's the way I study cases on the MacBook, because its easier to take breaks in between and because that way you focus on a pack of concepts rather than ALL the concepts at once. On the iPad, it seems that you can only study the whole case at once, and when your facing a 300-note case, it turns into a VERY long study session.

b) It would be pretty cool if the iPad supported HTML tags, because the notes made with HTML are more student friendly (with color, better spacing, sizing, etc.).

Thanks again!
Ignacio P.

    Hi Ignacio,
    Thanks for the feedback.

We have video coming in a week or two, but not video screen capture. That is quite difficult to do. You would be better to buy a separate capture app like iShowU, and use that to make files for MC.

I don't know why you would really need this. Images are shown as large as possible in the space, up to the size they are naturally made. Being able to shrink them wouldn't make much sense really.

At the moment, you can do a double tap and hold on any note to start a slideshow at that point.
Also, if you start a long slideshow, you can stop, and return to continue it later using the resume option.
We do have changes planned for this in the coming months that should help even more.

Formatted text is coming to the Mac in a few weeks. On iPad it is quite a bit more difficult, but will probably be added at some point.

    Kind regards,
    Drew
